Defining Mapping Between V5 Attributes and V6 Attributes

You must define the mapping between V5 attributes and their corresponding V6 attributes in win_b64\resources\msgcatalog\CATFstFastenerFBDIMapping.CATRsc.

The following attributes defined in GBF_STD.txt file must be mapped:

  1. Process categories
  2. Process types
  3. Classification attributes
  4. Shape definitions

The mapping format to be used is: V5Attribute=V6Attribute;
Customization
You can customize the default mapping specified in the CATFstFastenerFBDIMapping .CATRsc file. If required, you can define the meaning of some attribute values.
If there are custom values defined in V5 standards file then corresponding custom values should also be defined in V6 standards file and the mapping must be defined inside the CATFstFastenerFBDIMapping.CATRsc file.

As a first step, the FBDI process checks that:

  • Each attribute mentioned above (from 1 to 4) in GBF_STD.txt in V5 is mapped to an attribute in V6.
  • The mapped attribute in V6 must be defined in Fst_Standard.txt in V6.
Important: If any of these two conditions fails, the migration will not start.

If you do not want to import a V5 attribute in V6, set the value for this attribute as null in the CATFstFastenerFBDIMapping.CATRsc file.

Example
Material = “NULL”

Considerations

You should take the following considerations into account:

About Mapping
Note that:
  • The position, orientation and geometrical associativity of V5 fasteners are mapped onto 3DEXPERIENCE fastener instances.
  • The technological attributes (classification attributes, shape parameters etc.) of V5 fasteners are mapped onto 3DEXPERIENCE fastener references.
  • The fastened parts of v5 assembly joints are stored inside 3DEXPERIENCE bundles (that aggregate fastener instances).
Recommendations
Make sure that V5 assemblies have the links related to joined components on joints in resolved states so as to create well-resolved 3DEXPERIENCE data. In short, there should be no missing joined components.
The names of V5 spots should be unique to make it possible to easily identify the corresponding 3DEXPERIENCE fasteners instances.
About V5 Joined Zones
In 3DEXPERIENCE we can specify a fastened part but not a specific zone inside that part. All attributes of a V5 zone (zone name, zone material, thickness) are not imported in 3DEXPERIENCE.
Automotive BiW Fastening Workbench (ABF) Spots
The following attributes of Automotive BiW Fastening Workbench (ABF) spots are not reported on 3DEXPERIENCE fasteners:
  • Forecast element count
  • Stacking types (lap, hem, unspec)
  • Thickness count values. In V5 this value is calculated or you can manually override the calculated value. If is was overridden in V5 then it will not be imported.
  • Fastener shape definition parameter. Offset.
  • Material: it is defined in GBF_STD file and can be chosen at the time of creation of fastener.
  • SAG/STEP tolerance values stored on beads.
  • Bead shape types (circular, diamond, etc.) and its base/height value are not imported in 3DEXPERIENCE, as 3DEXPERIENCE bead supports circular cross-section only.
Grouping of Fasteners
The fasteners are grouped in bundles in 3DEXPERIENCE.
Annotations
Annotations associated with V5 ABF spots are isolated from 3DEXPERIENCE fastener product instance after import.
Importing and Updating Parameters
The FBDI process incorporates modifications of V5 parameters.
If parameters of V5 data already imported into 3DEXPERIENCE are modified, then, during the re-import of the same data, the corresponding parameters in 3DEXPERIENCE are updated.
Only the parameters defined in Fst_Standard.txt file (attribute FST_REFERENCE_PARAMETERS) are elligible for FBDI updates.

The FDBI update is done for the following parameter modifications:

  • Proces type (PTYP2)
  • Classification parameters: Robustness, Finish, GeometryFlag, InspectionFlag, etc.
  • Shape parameters:
    • Spot: Diameter, Length, HeadDiameter, HeadLength, FootDiameter, FootLenght
    • Bead: Diameter
