Considerations

  • If the process category or process type of a fastener does not exist in 3DEXPERIENCE, the fastener cannot be imported and a warning is reported in the log file.
  • If an attribute of a process category or process type does not exist in 3DEXPERIENCE, the value of this attribute is lost and a warning is reported in the log file.
  • If you import twice the same neutral file, the names of the new fastener references are different from the names of the fastener references created in the previous import, whereas the names of new fastener instances are the same as the names of the fastener instances created in previous import.
  • The 3DEXPERIENCE model does not support V5 curve beads, no spot Fastener reference or instance representing this fastener are created and a warning is reported in the log file.
  • Each spot fastener instance created using the import process has an Explicit location method, i.e. the location method of the V5 fastener is not preserved.
  • Only the import of ABF neutral file Version 4.0 (CATIA V5R14) or Version 5.0 (CATIA V5R15 and onwards) format is supported.

About Importing Exported Content in STEP Format

Spot fasteners representations in 3D are not available after importing data previously exported in STEP format. Likewise, Bead fasteners representations in 3D are not available after importing data previously exported in STEP format.
