Importing Data

You can use Fastener Import to import data from a neutral file. Fastener Import enables the reading and conversion of V5 import .txt neutral file format into the V2 Typing model.

Before you begin: Create an assembly containing spot or bead fasteners.

About the Import of Fasteners From a Neutral File
  1. From the Fastener section of the action bar, click Fastener Import .
  2. Optional: Click to modify the path of the neutral file.
  3. Select the Import options.
    • Bijection: for every fastener in the neutral file, a new spot fastener reference is created.
    • Optimization: a single spot fastener reference is created for a unique set of attributes.
    The primary and secondary process types of a spot fastener reference are decided from process category and process type respectively of the joint element.
  4. Click OK.
