Generating an Immersive Report

You can report data into an immersive tab-separated file that provides the list of fasteners of a given product and its representations. More specifically, the reports provide relevant information about broken links and help you identify the issues.


Before you begin: Create an assembly containing spot or bead fasteners.

Customizing Preferences
  1. From the Fastener Section of the action bar, click Immersive Report .
  2. Select the fasteners for which you wish to generate an immersive report in the work area.
    The elements and the parent of higher level are selected.
    Tips:
    • You can also select the fasteners before entering the command by clicking Selection Wizard .
    • You can modify the selection at any time.
  3. Optional: Select a line to highlight the corresponding fastener both in the 3D area and in the tree.
    Tips: You can sort the column values in an ascending or descending order clicking the column header. You can also sort the report using the stacking parts of the fasteners.
  4. Optional: To hide a column, right-click and select Hide Column.
  5. Optional: To restore the display of the column, right-click it and select Show Column. You can always restore the columns that are hidden. To do so, select:
    1. Show All Columns to show all hidden columns in one shot.
    2. Show Column > Name of column to restore a specific column among many hidden ones.
    Note: If you close the report without restoring hidden columns, next time you open the report, these columns will still be hidden.
  6. Click Close when done.

The list of hidden columns if any, is stored in the CATSettings files. So that next time you run Immersive Report , the columns previously hidden are automatically hidden. This is very helpful whenever you do not want to examine all of them next time you run the capability. Generally, reports generate a large number of columns reports, but you may want to restrict your review to specific attribute columns.
