Creating Symmetric Fasteners

You can symmetrize fasteners and generate a symmetric product structure from the original one.

Important: Assembly Symmetry is available for bundle modeler fasteners only.
For reference information about the Assembly Symmetry command, see Assembly Design User's Guide: Assembly Symmetry.

About Stacking Computation Modes
  1. From the Fastener section of the action bar, click Assembly Symmetry .
  2. Select the product containing the fasteners.
  3. Optional: Select the constraint plane.

The colors of the previewed geometry are those specified in the legend.

  4. Click OK.
The new symmetric product is created as a new reference. The fasteners available in the original product are symmetrized as per fastener type:

    • For every spot fastener instance available in the original product, a new spot fastener instance with a new engineering connection is created using the same reference.
    • For every bead fastener instance available in the original product, a new bead fastener instance with a new engineering connection is created using the new reference.

    Symmetric Fasteners

    Important:
    • The stackings computed are the symmetric fastened parts for fastener.
    • The symmetric fastener does not store the location method of its parent fastener.
