Performing a Fastener Analysis

You can use Fastener Analysis to analyze relationships between fasteners and fastened parts. Fastener Review offers basic and advanced analyses.

Before you begin:
  • Open the product or part you want to analyze.
  • To have a global view of the product whatever the level of the tree expansion, select the visualization option in Me > Preferences > App Preferences > Social and Collaborative > Global Design Management > Product Finder > Visualization.

Exploring Fastener Analysis Results
  1. From the Engineering Tools section of the action bar, click Fastener Analysis .
    In the Fastening Information panel, different colors reveal information about each part of the product. For reference information about what colors represent, see Fastening Information.

    The Fastener Analysis dialog box also appears to let you analyze the relationships defined between the parts and the fasteners.

  2. Select a fastened part and choose an analysis mode. For more information about the different modes available, see About Launching Fasteners Analysis.
  3. Click Launch analysis on selected items.
    The number of results is displayed in the dialog box. To know how to manage these results, see Exploring Analysis Results.

  4. Optional: To perform a search, select one of the arrows surrounding the icon and click Launch search on selected items .
