What's New

This page describes recent changes in FreeStyle Shape Design.

R2022x GA

Associative Fill Surfaces Improvements

New options were implemented.
  • With the new Roundness Factor, you can improve the smoothness of the result surface.
  • With Free continuity, you can better control the fill surface result.
Benefits:
  • The Roundness Factor gives you better control of the curvature flow of the fill surface result.
  • With the Free continuity, you can improve the result if a wavy and defective fill surface is created. This may happen if Curvature conditions are defined with boundary edges and Point conditions are forced with boundary curves.
For more information, see Creating Associative Fill Surfaces

New Specialized Tessellation Command

With this new command, you can temporarily define an individual tessellation tolerance value.
Benefits: You can improve all kind of shaded analysis results on top of surfaces.
For more information, see Improving Shaded Display with Specialized Tesselation

Variants for Matching Constraints

You can now save option settings in variants.
Benefits: You can quickly and simultaneously switch all dialog settings in one shot.

New Types for the Surfacic Curvature Analysis

You can now directly access the Specialized Tesselation command by a new icon. You can now access new analysis types.
  • The Flat Region type allows you to indicate areas that are too flat.
  • The Curvedness type allows you to quickly see the strength of the curvature continuously distributed over a shaded surface.
  • The Shape Index type allows you to get more detailed shape information compared to a simple shaded convex-concave analysis.
Benefits: You have more options to assess the curvature of a surface.
