Creating Framed (Basic) Dimensions

You can create framed (basic) dimensions.


Before you begin: Open an existing 3D shape.

Creating Framed (Basic) Dimensions Automatically
  1. Double-click the Front View.x to activate it.
  2. From the Annotation section of the action bar, click Framed (Basic) Dimension .
  3. Select the Restricted Area.x partial area.

    The Framed (Basic) Dimensions Management dialog box appears.

  4. Select dimensions as shown on the part.


    The dimensions are converted into basic dimensions.



    The Framed (Basic) Dimensions Management dialog box is updated. The validity of each converted annotation is checked.

    During the conversion, converted annotations remain selected in the tree, in 3D area and in the dialog box.

  5. Click Start creation mode in the Framed (Basic) Dimensions Management dialog box.
  6. Select edges as shown on the part.


    The basic dimension is pre-created.



  7. Click anywhere in the 3D area to create the basic dimension.



  8. Click End creation mode in the Framed (Basic) Dimensions Management dialog box.
  9. Optional: Select Basic Dimension.x in the dialog box, and click Remove.

    The basic dimension is removed.

  10. Click OK.
