Creating Note Object Attribute From a Text

You can create a Note Object Attribute which contains a text only.

Before you begin: Open an existing 3D shape.
  1. From the Template section of the action bar, Click Note Object Attribute .

To make the Template section available, ensure that you clear the Disable template creation check box under Annotation Set, available in Me > Preferences > App Preferences > 3D Modeling > Mechanical Systems > 3D Tolerancing & Annotation > Administration section.

Restart the session after clearing the check box to take the changes into account.

  2. Select the surface as shown on the part.

The Note Object Attribute Reference dialog box appears.

    Important:

This scenario illustrates the creation of a note object attribute by selecting geometry, but you can also select any Part Design or Generative Shape Design feature in the tree. In this case, the created annotation will not be attached to the selected feature, but to its geometrical elements at the highest level.

  3. Enter the following information:

    • Type of Noa: Note Object Annotation from a Text
    • Text: 3D Annotation

  4. Click OK.
The Note Object Attribute is created.

You can add new 3D leaders in the 3D area or switch current 2D leaders to 3D to position the leader outside the annotation plane. For more information, see Adding a 3D Leader.

The Note object Attribute default name in the tree is retrieved from its type.

    Important:

Modifying the type name does not modify the feature name.

    To modify the feature name:

    • Right-click the name and select Properties....
    • In the Feature Properties tab, modify the Feature Name.
