Copying by Replace and Split

Product Managers and System Engineers can create an instance of a logical feature using the Replace & Split action. A new instance can be added as a logical feature to any model version prior to the Release state.

If you use replace and split on a model version that has been added as a logical feature, and that logical feature has a design variant attached, the replace and split operation fails without an error message.

Note: If you manually add a variant, option group, variant value, or option to a model version and then add it as a design variant to a logical feature, that variant, option group, variant value, or option is retained in the model version context even if the design variant is removed.

Before you begin: Access the Logical Structures page for a model version. See Logical View Tab on the Logical Structures Page.
