Creating a Formula

In a reliability source, you can create and store a formula to be assigned to one or several failure modes.

Before you begin: In the Reliability Source widget, select a reliability source.

  1. From the Edit section of the action bar, click Open Reliability Source .
  2. In the Reliability Source widget, select a reliability source to store your formula.
  3. Click Create Formula .
  4. Enter a name and a description for your formula.

    Note: You can apply the same name to several formulas.

  5. Select a law type and define the corresponding parameter.
    Law typeParameters
    Exponential Zero or a positive double followed by the unit
    Constant A double between 0 and 1
    Weibull

    Alpha: A double between 0 and 1

    Beta: A double between 0 and 1

    Tau: Zero or a positive double

    Constant Mission Time

    Lambda: Zero or a positive double

    Probability: A double between 0 and 1

    Time: Zero or a positive double

    Custom An expression you can customize
