What's New

This page describes recent changes in Converter for OMF.

This page discusses:

R2022x FD01 (FP.2205)

Enabling Healing for Polyhedral Geometry in Me > Preferences

You can now diagnose, solve, and report topology defects identified in Polyhedral output geometry during import of OMF files.
To enable healing for polyhedral geometry, select the healing check box in Me > Preferences. The healing operation is accounted for in the result report. The report file matches the input file name. For example, C:\Users\xxx\AppData\Local\DassaultSystemes\CATReport\MyGeom.rpt.
Benefits: Extended support of polyhedral geometry during import to diagnose, solve, and report topology defects.
For more information, see About Reports and Troubleshooting Importing Surpac Data Interactively

GEOVIA Geolocation Support in Import and Export

You can now specify GEOVIA specific Source Geolocation and Target Geolocation values at import and export for all the GEOVIA files that are supported.
Benefits: Greater flexibility in choosing source and target CRS when importing and exporting Surpac files. You can also store the projection that is performed within the data exchange report.
For more information, see About Reports and Troubleshooting Importing Surpac Data Interactively

Expanded Coverage of Geometry Output Types

You can now choose either to create cloud geometry or polyhedral surfaces when importing Surpac files. This release provides support for polyhedral surfaces type in interactive and batch modes. Support for this additional output type expands the types of geometry you can generate at import.
You can now choose from the following Output geometry options:
  • Tessellated: imports the source geometry as tessellated
  • Polyhedral: imports the source geometry as a boundary representation also referred to as B-Rep.
Note: Only surfaces are converted to polyhedral bodies, existing polylines and strings are converted to tessellated Cloud body representations.
Benefits: You can now choose from a greater variety of geometry results when importing files in 3DEXPERIENCE.

R2022x GA

Customizing Import Options as per Activity in Me > Preferences

You can now choose import options according to three distinct profiles.

Selecting a preferred profile determines the best import options suitable for coordination, construction, or design activities.
  • For Coordination: Selected object* and all children underneath are imported in a CGR .
  • For Design: Selected object* and children underneath are imported as geometric* features for each triangulation of each object in the source file in single a 3d shape .
  • For Construction: Selected object* and direct children are imported as distinct geometric* features distributed across different 3D shapes.this option is sected.
Benefits: A single setting to specify a preferred profile for importing GEOVIA files.
For more information, see Customizing Preferences

Import Options As Per Activity available in Add > Import

The import options associated with a preferred profile are available in the Add > Import dialog box. You can overload the options previously defined in Common Preferences > Exchange Management > Compatibility > Surpac. In that case, these take precedence over the options specified in Me Preferences.
Benefits: A single setting to specify a preferred profile for importing GEOVIA files that can be overloaded at import.
