Enabling Scheduling

You can enable scheduling to benefit from a high-level schedule that can be used to inform the Net Present Value (NPV), also known as the discounted rate, of the project. It can also be used to evaluate pushbacks. Scheduling is disabled by default.

  1. From the Pit Optimization section of the action bar, click Scheduling.
  2. In the Scheduling dialog box, select Enable Scheduling.
  3. In the General section:
    1. Select the Maximum Period for scheduling. It can be either Unlimited or a specific value.
    2. Enter the Discount Rate for the discount factor the value over time. The value is a percentage.
    3. Enter the Mining Capacity for each period.
    4. Enter the Processing Capacity for each period.
  4. In the Bench Definition section:
    1. Enter the Bench Height.
    2. Enter the Start Level. The start level is used for counting and flagging benches. Benches are counted from the top down.
  5. In the Bench Sequence Rule section:
    1. Click Fixed Lead to enable a fixed lead. A fixed lead means that the bench of a phase cannot be mined for more than the specified number of levels from the bench of a later phase.
    2. Enter a Fixed Lead value.
  6. In the Bench Sequence on Flitch section you can define the bench sequence on the flitch. The flitch is a horizontal layer of blocks within a phase. Blocks on a flitch can be sequenced either following a parallel direction or following a radial direction:
    1. Select either Follow Phase Direction or Parallel Direction.

Follow Phase Direction means that the direction follows the phase direction. To enable this feature select Enforce Phase to Follow a Direction in the Pit and Phases panel.

Parallel Direction means that the direction is defined by the angle of the direction relative to the Y axis going clockwise. If Parallel Direction is selected, enter the required angle.

  7. Click Ok to save and close the dialog box.
