Adding composite weightings

You can weight the resulting grades qualities by length or by other attributes (like, specific gravity or recovery).

Before you begin:
  1. From the Interpretation section of the action bar, click Compositing. See Selecting interpretation.
  2. From the Optional Weighting Method list, select the weighting method. The options are: Global mapping and Individual mapping.

Note: If the weighting attributes are the same for each attribute being composited, select Global mapping. If the weighting attributes are different for each attribute, select Individual mapping.

    • For the Global mapping option:
      1. From the Select Weight by Attributes list, select the weight by attribute that you want to display in the Weight by column.
      2. Click Add, to add the weight by attribute.

The weight by attributes are displayed in the table below the Select Weight by Attributes list.

      3. In the Default column, enter the default weighting value if the given sample value is negative or absent.
      4. In the Limit column, enter the value for each weighting attribute to determine if a composite sample provides sufficient support for subsequent geostatistical evaluation.
        Notes:
        • If you use a weighting attribute of recovery (%), an appropriate cutoff value might be 90%. The Limit value and Minimum % of sample length determines if a composite sample is short.
        • This column is only available for Downhole Composites.
      5. Optional: Click to delete the attribute from the table.
    • For the Individual mapping option:
      1. Select an attribute in the Attributes table.

The respective Weight by Atrributes are displayed in the right pane.

      2. From the Select Weight by Attributes list, select the weight by attribute that you want to display in the Weight by column.
      3. Click Add, to add the weight by attribute.

The weight by attributes are displayed in the table below the Select Weight by Attributes list.

      4. In the Default column, enter the default weighting value if the given sample value is negative or absent.

The composite weighting is added to the composite borehole data.
