Editing GDS Permissions

You can use this function to assign Geoscience dataset (GDS) user rights. You can open an existing GDS query, observe the current permissions of the user, and search platform services for existing users and user groups. You can assign a user or group to a GDS and specify the access level appropriate for the user or group to complete their tasks.


Before you begin: You must have:
  • The Geology Modeler role.
  • The Collaborative Business Innovator role.
  • The Collaborative Industry Innovator role.
  • The Platform Administrator role.

User Roles
  1. From the Boreholes section of the action bar, click Geoscience Dataset Parameters.
  2. On the Geoscience Dataset window, click the vertical ellipsis in the top-right corner.
  3. Click the Edit GDS Permissions option.

    Note: Open an existing GDS query to access the option.

    The GDS Permissions: My Geoscience Dataset dialog box appears that displays the names of users who have user rights.
  4. In the User/Group Search field, enter the name of the user or group and then select the correct name from a list, to grant user rights.
  5. Click Add, to add the name of the user in a table and then grant them user rights.
  6. From the table, select the user that you want to assign user rights, and then select the Read or Modify option in the Access Level column.

    Note: You can use cancel to remove the row from the table.

  7. Click OK.

    Note: You can save multiple permissions at a time.

    The permission is saved.

The changes in the permissions are saved.
