Creating a Fastener Force Constraint

You can create a constraint that specifies the maximum allowable axial stress and the shear stiffness in selected bolts.


Before you begin: Open the Topology Optimization assistant. See Performing an Optimization Using the Topology Optimization Assistant.

  1. From the Optimization section, click Optimization constraints, and select Fastener force constraints.
  2. Optional: Select the virtual bolts to constrain, and click .
  3. Optional: Enter a Name for the constraint.
  4. Select the load case in which you apply the constraint.
  5. Enter the maximum allowable axial stress.
  6. Enter the maximum allowable shear stiffness.
