Creating a Stress Constraint

You can create a constraint that specifies the maximum allowable stress in the design area.


Before you begin: Open the Topology Optimization assistant. See Performing an Optimization Using the Topology Optimization Assistant.

  1. From the Optimization section, click Optimization constraints, and select Stress constraint.
  2. Optional: Enter a Name for the constraint.
  3. Select one or more design spaces to which you can apply the constraint.

    Leave the Support field empty to apply the constraint to all design spaces (the whole model).

  4. Select the load case in which you apply the constraint.
