You can select the parts of your model that contribute to the optimization process.

Before you begin: Open the Shape Optimization assistant. See Performing an Optimization Using the Shape Optimization Assistant.

  1. From the Model section, select Model configuration.

When you first launch the command, an automatic selection is performed. All parts are taken into account in the simulation as either:

    • A part to optimize if a disconnect feature is already created.
    • A contextual part. The last body is selected as default.

  2. From the model in the work area, select the regions to include in the optimization.
  3. Optional: Add abstractions to the simulation.

    For more information, see Abstractions.

  4. Optional: From the context toolbar, do one following:
    OptionDescription
Part to optimizeSelect the body as the optimized body
Remove part to optimizeRemove the body as the optimized body
Add contextual bodyAdd the contextual body
Remove contextual bodyRemove the contextual body
Add materialSet the material in the current body
