Creating a Proxy Feature

You can create a proxy feature to manage the linkage between the symbolic input interface and the feature that requires existing geometries as input.


Before you begin: Select a 3D part and create modules with input and output interfaces.

  1. From the Modules section of the action bar, click Proxy .
  2. In the Proxy dialog box, select a symbolic input interface in the Symbolic interface box.

    You can also select an output interface from an external module. In this case, an input interface is automatically created in the current module and this interface is set as the input of the proxy.

    Proxy feature provides a default geometry if the symbolic input interface does not match with the output interface.

  3. In the Default geometry box, select a default geometry feature.

    The proxy feature uses the default geometry for the following cases:

    • When the input interface is not linked to an output interface.
    • When the input interface is linked to an output interface but the output interface does not refer to any geometry.

  4. Click OK.

A proxy feature is created.
