Transforming Geometry by Scaling

You can scale geometry.


Before you begin: Create a 3D shape containing geometric elements.

Selecting Using the Multi-Selection
  1. From the Transform section of the action bar, click Scaling .
  2. In the Element box, select the element to be scaled.
  3. In the Reference box, select the reference point, plane or planar surface.
  4. In the Ratio box, specify the scale factor by entering a value or using the arrows.


    With plane as reference element (ratio = 2)


    With point as reference (ratio = 2)
  5. Optional: Select Repeat object after OK to create several scaled surfaces, each separated from the initial surface by a multiple of the initial Ratio value. In the Object Repetition dialog box, the number indicates the instances that should be created.


  6. Click OK.
