Creating a Curve from Equations

You can create a parametric curve from three Cartesian equations.


Before you begin: Create a Generative Shape Design Law feature. Make sure the Relations and Parameters options are selected in the Infrastructure > 3D Shape Infrastructure > Display tab.

Creating a Parameterized Curve
  1. From the Wireframe section of the action bar, click Curve from Equations .
  2. Click the X box and select an existing law (from the tree, for example) to compute the X component of the curve.
  3. Optional: To create a new law, Right-click the X box and select Insert Law > Create Law or select Insert Law > Create Engineering Law.

  4. Compute the Y and Z components of the curve by selecting or creating the laws.
  5. Click OK to create the parametric curve.
