Selecting a Reference Plane

You can select a reference plane as a wireframe element contextually.

Before you begin:
  • You must have installed the Space Referential app.
  • One of the following conditions must be fulfilled:
    • A reference planes system must be set in Common Geometry Resources in Data Setup, if you want to use a common reference planes system. The same reference planes system must be added under the root product. For more information, see Installation and Setup: Customize: 3DEXPERIENCE Platform: 3DSpace: Behavior: Data Setup: List of Resource Set IDs: 3D Modeling: Common Geometry Resources.
    • There must be a plane system aggregated under the active 3D shape representation.
  1. From the Wireframe section of the action bar, click Plane .
  2. In the Plane type list, select the Offset from plane type.
  3. In the Reference box, right-click and select Insert Wireframe > Select Reference Plane.
  4. In the Plane Systems dialog box, select a reference plane and click OK.

For more information about the reference planes browser, see 3D Modeling: Multi Discipline Engineering: Structure Functional Design: Reference Planes Browser: About Using Reference Planes Browser.

    The reference plane is added.
  5. In the Offset box, enter the offset value and click OK.
