Importing and Opening the Heart Model

You can import the Heart Model into the 3DEXPERIENCE platform and open and edit the physics simulation object that is created.

This task shows you how to:

Import the Heart Model

Before you begin: You or your administrator must have installed the app content. For more information, see Native Apps Installation: Installing Native Apps.
  1. From the top bar, select Add > Import.

See “Importing 3D XML Files” in the Exchange Management Guide for more information.

  2. From the Import dialog box that appears, do the following:
    1. From the Format field, select 3DXML with authoring.
    2. From the Source field, select File on disk.
    3. In the Location field, enter the path to the Heart Model content that was installed.

The default installation directory is install_directory\win_b64\startup\LivingHeart.

    4. In the Filename field, enter <release_number>_Living_Heart_Simulation_Object.3dxml.
    5. From the General Options, select As New.
    6. Enter the Duplication String that will be appended to the 3DEXPERIENCE object created by the import.

You can also use your 3DEXPERIENCE preferences to define the duplication string.

    7. Click OK to import the model and to close the Import dialog box.
  3. From the Operation report dialog box that appears, select OK.
  4. Repeat steps 1-3 and do the following to import the simulation experience:
    1. In the Filename field, enter <release_number>_01_Living_Heart_Simulation_Experience.3dxml.
    2. Do not enter a Duplication String.

Only one copy of the experience should exist on the 3DSpace server.

Open the Heart Model Physics Simulation Object

You can open the Heart Model physics simulation object in Mechanical Scenario Creation.

  1. From the Search field in the top bar, enter sim: Living to search for the physics simulation object.
  2. From the search results, select the <duplication string>Living_Heart_Simulation physics simulation object.
  3. From the Actions menu, select Open.
The physics simulation is opened in Mechanical Scenario Creation in a new tab.
  4. From the action bar, click Feature Manager to review the parts and scenario features defined in the Heart Model.

See “Feature Manager” in the Mechanical Scenario Creation guide for more information.

Open a Heart Model Simulation Process

You can open a specified simulation process in Process Composer and use the process to modify or analyze the Heart Model. For more information about the simulation processes that are delivered with the Heart Model, see The Heart Model Simulation Processes.

  1. From the Search field in the top bar, enter st: Living to search for the simulation experience.
  2. From the search results, select one of the Living Heart Simulation * simulation experiences.
  3. From the Actions menu, select Explore.
The simulation experience appears in the Simulation Finder app in a new tab.
  4. Click F3 to display the model tree.
The model tree displays the simulation experience and its content—the simulation process containing a simulation activity.
  5. From the model tree, right-click the Heart Model simulation process and select Open.
The simulation process is opened in Process Composer in a new tab.
