Managing Ports

You can modify, add, and delete ports on the instantiated hangers.


Before you begin: Open an assembly that contains instantiated hangers.

Instantiating a Hanger
  1. From the Authoring section of the action bar, click Hanger Port Definition .
    The Port Definition panel appears.
  2. In the Hanger box, select an instantiated hanger.
    The Head Axis Plane box displays the name of the plane of the axis system selected as head. If the hanger has already defined ports, the entry and exit plane inputs are displayed.
  3. To add a new port:
    1. Under Entry Plane Elements, click Add.
    2. In the Port Location dialog box, specify the entry point location and select the base plane.
    3. Click .

    The port is created.

    You can create several ports. Only the last created port is available in the panel.

  4. To modify the port elements:
    1. Under Entry Plane Elements, select the required row and click Modify.
    2. In the Port Location dialog box, modify the inputs and click .
  5. To delete the required port, select the row and click Delete.
  6. Under Exit Plane, enter the offset.

    A plane is created and the name of the plane is displayed.

    Note: The exit plane is shared between all the ports and is always parallel to the head axis plane.
  7. Click to validate the ports.

Tips:
  • You can preview the modified or added inputs in the viewer.
  • Click to restore the view to normal to the selected head axis plane.
