Placing a Frame and a Titleblock in a Background View

You can insert a frame symbol in a background view. This frame symbol may contain a titleblock.

For the purpose of this scenario, the Data Setup resource contains several frame symbols with the same sheet format. For more information about sheet format, see Creating a Diagram View with Selection of a Standard.

Note: When you create a sheet, the default format is A0 ISO.

Before you begin:
  • In the Data Setup, associate frame symbols with the Frame and Titleblock Symbol resource. For more information see, Diagram Resources.
  • Create a sheet containing a diagram view under a logical reference.
  1. From the Edition section of the action bar, click Insert Frame and Titleblock .
If only one symbol with the same format as the selected sheet is associated to the Frame and Titleblock Symbol Data Setup resource, the frame symbol is placed automatically in the background view. In any other case, the Define Frame and Titleblock dialog box appears.
  2. In the Select the symbol list, select the desired frame symbol.
  3. Click OK to validate your selection.
The frame symbol is placed at the origin of the background view. If your frame symbol contains a titleblock with text templates, they are linked to the sheet, the layout (if any), and the logical reference containing the sheet.

Note: To update your titleblock, click Insert Frame and Titleblock again.
