Create 2D Symbols
-
From the Compass, click Drafting to access the Drafting
app.
The app opens and a new representation appears.
-
To create a detail view, select Insert > Sheets > New Detail Sheet.
A detail sheet with one 2D Component appears.
-
Right-click the detail sheet, select Properties and rename the detail sheet to 2D_Detail.
Note: The name of the detail sheet helps you identify the components of the representation.
-
Right-click the 2D Component, select Properties and rename the 2D Component.
You must follow the naming convention XXX_PartType, where:
- XXX is used to establish the link with Generative View
Styles (GVS).Note: In GVS, HVAC Part > GraphicRepresentation > Name must be set to the same value of XXX chosen in this step.
- PartType is the HVAC Part SubType represented by the symbol (for example, Tee)
During the front view generation of 2D symbols, the object part type is retrieved from the fluidic component and the name (XXX) is retrieved from the GVS to generate the final name of the 2D symbol (XXX_PartType).
- XXX is used to establish the link with Generative View
Styles (GVS).
- Sketch the geometry of the symbol in the detail view.
- To create another symbol, click New View .
Repeat this step as many times as necessary, sketching the geometry of each symbol and naming as required.
-
When you have finished creating symbols, click Share > Save > Save with Options.
Your changes are saved in the database.
