About Split Analysis

This section deals with basic concepts you should know before beginning with creating a split analysis.

The split analysis separates the splittable part of a surface from its nonsplittable part to identify the transition areas. The drawing vector determines the split direction. You can define the split angle by using the Light Manager.

The splittable and nonsplittable regions of the geometry are displayed in different colors:

  • Green: Splittable area
  • Yellow: Transition (gray wash) area
  • Red: Nonsplittable area
