Working with Rework Features

Every geometry entity created in ICEM Design Experience is a rework feature. It consists of the feature itself (embedded feature) and a copy of the feature result, which you can modify. Parametric features from other apps and datum entities are converted to an ICEM Design Experience rework feature as soon as they are modified.

The pencil in the tree icon indicates that the entity is a rework feature. The pencil color indicates the update status:

  • green pencil : the rework feature is up to date.
  • yellow pencil : the rework feature is up to date, but the condition is not kept as the input feature stores an update error.
  • yellow pencil with an exclamation mark : the feature stores an update error.
  • red pencil : the rework feature is not up to date.

In the *object context menu of the tree icons, Reset and Revert options are available. You can use them to undo modifications of a rework feature.

  • Reset only discards modifications of datum entities and parametric features from other apps. In the tree, the rework icon is displayed.
  • Revert reverts in addition the entities to datum entities or parametric features, respectively. In the tree, the datum icon or the parametric feature icon, respectively, is displayed.

In addition, the Deactivate and Activate options in the context menu let you exclude a rework feature and its children from the update process and reinclude it after modifications of a 3DShape. For more information, see Deactivating Elements.
