Setting Save Options

You can set the options to be applied when you save designs to 3DEXPERIENCE.

Before you begin: Ensure that the 3DEXPERIENCE Save dialog box is open. For more information, see Saving Designs to 3DEXPERIENCE platform.
  1. In the 3DEXPERIENCE Save dialog box, click Options.
The 3DEXPERIENCE Save Options dialog box appears.
Important: To support your business processes, your Integration Administrator may have defined some options that cannot be changed by you. Those you can adjust are shown in the Save options dialog box; but changes made are for the current save only. To permanently change the defaults, work with your Integration Administrator. For more information on setting these preferences, see Connector for Inventor - Installation and Administration Guide : Setting Up and Configuring : Setting Preferences.
  2. Set the following options in the 3DEXPERIENCE Save options dialog box:
    OptionAction
AutoName SeriesFor CAD Model AutoName Series and CAD Drawing AutoName Series, select a naming series from the respective list. Custom autoname series created for these types are listed. See Using Autoname.
Note: Only new designs can be named using autoname.
Target RevisionThis column is added when you right-click and select Revise. The target revision set in 3DEXPERIENCE Save Options dialog box is applied to the selected designs. You can edit this column and enter the required revision sequence. See Revising Designs.
Background ProcessingSelect to save designs without affecting Inventor operations. You can continue to use Inventor even when the save process is in progress.
Create IterationSelect to create an iteration of the design in 3DEXPERIENCE. If not selected, the existing version of the design in ENOVIA is overwritten by the design being saved.
Tip: Changing the status of the Create Iteration option (select or clear the selection) refreshes the Save dialog box and automatically selects all selectable nodes in the Save dialog box. Nodes that were cleared prior to refresh must be cleared again in the Save dialog box.
Retain LockSelect to lock the design. It is recommended that you lock your designs while saving, to prevent other users from modifying your designs. If not selected, the design is saved to 3DEXPERIENCE in the unlocked state.
Delete Selected Local FilesSelect to delete the files of the design on your local disk upon saving.
    Notes:
    • Delete Selected Local Files cannot be selected if Background Processing is selected
    • Due to Inventor API limitations, Delete Selected Local Files option may not work for files that are open in Inventor.
Derived OutputClick to set the specific type of derived output for each particular design type for the current save session. See Derived Output.
  3. Click OK to save your selection and close the 3DEXPERIENCE Save options dialog box.
