Fixing Components Together or Together Relatively

You can fix components together.

Fixing components together prevents them from moving in relation to each other and are always child components of the active product.

Before you begin: Open an existing assembly.
  1. From the Assembly section of the action bar, click Engineering Connection .
The Engineering Connection Definition dialog box appears.
    Important:

The Engineering Connection Assistant helps you select and position components to create engineering connections.

  2. Select two components in the tree or in the 3D area.
The Engineering Connection Definition dialog box is updated: a Fix Together Relatively constraint is created, and the Rigid engineering connection type is selected.
    Important:
    • The Fix Together Relatively is defined with only two component. If more than two components are selected the engineering connection is transformed as Fix Together .
    • As long as the Engineering Connection Definition dialog is opened, you can add or remove components and the type of constraint is updated.
    • The instance name for each selected component is displayed in the Support column.
  3. Click OK in the Engineering Connection Definition dialog box.
A Rigid engineering connection containing a Fix Together constraint is created in the tree.
