Associating a Text File or a URL with Concept Inputs

You can associate a Text File or a URL with a Concept you want to publish. The text file or the browser will open at instantiation when entering the input.

This task shows you how to:

Create the CATRsc File
Create the Resource Table

Before you begin:

You have created a Car Concept.
You have created an EngineType input in the Concept.

Create the CATRsc File

The CATRsc file is required to launch the text file or the URL at instantiation.

Note: The CATRsc file must be called KBEConcept_ConceptName.CATRsc to be associated with a Concept called ConceptName, the file name is case sensitive.

In a text editor, enter the following script if you want to open a document:

EngineType.Help="EngineDesc"; /*EngineDesc is the name in the ARM table.*/
```
Note: If you want to open a URL, enter EngineType.Help=" http://EngineServer.Com/EngineTypes.htm";
Save your file.

Create the Resource Table

You must reference the document you want to launch in a resource table.

Important: The creation of an ARM table is necessary only if you want to open a document.

In the 3D Templates Capture app, click Create ARM Table .
The Resource table is added to the tree in the left area.
Double-click the resource table.
In the Resource table tab, click Add a new resource item .
A new row is added to the table.
Fill in the resource table.
1. Double-click the Logical Name field and key in EngineDesc.
  EngineDesc is the string your entered in the CATRsc file.
2. Double-click the Resource Type cell and select Document from the list.
3. Double-click the Resource cell.
4. In the Select a Text Document for item xxx dialog box, enter the document name in the From Search tab and click Search if the document is already stored in the database. Click the From File tab, click Import and navigate to the document you want to associate with the input and click Open.
5. Rename the document in the dialog box and click OK twice.
The document is added to the resource table.

When instantiating the concept, click the interrogation mark to launch the text file or open the browser when asked to enter the EngineType input.
