Referencing a Reusable Function in a Resource Table

Prior to using the created functions in a script, you must make them available through a resource table or the dedicated resource set.

Important: If you want to call a user function referenced in a resource table or in a Data Setup resource table, remember that name used in the Include statement must be a logical name from a resource table library element or a logical name from a Data Setup library referenced in the Includable EKL Libraries resource set.

Use a Resource Table

For EKL features located in a Part, Knowledge Components, or in engineering specification representations, you can make your function available using a resource table.

  1. From the Compass, click 3D Modeling Apps , and select Engineering Rules Capture.
  2. Click Create or Modify a Resource Table .
  3. To add the Know-how library to the table, click Add a new resource item .
    A row appears in the table.
  4. Define the content of your resource item:
    1. To assign a name to your new resource, double-click the Logical Name box.
    2. Double-click the Resource Type box to select the Know-how Library resource type.
    3. To allocate the resource, enter the library name in the box dedicated to the search and click the Search button. Select your library and click OK.
    4. Save your work.

Use a Data Setup Resource Table

You can also make your functions available using the Includable EKL Libraries resource set in Data Setup.

  1. From the Compass, click Social and Collaborative Apps , and select Data Setup.
  2. In the Resource Tables tab, right-click Includable EKL Libraries and select Create Resource Table.
    The Resource Set dialog box appears.
  3. Enter the resource table name and click OK.
    The window related to the Resource set you selected opens.
  4. Click Add a new resource item.
  5. Enter the resource name and double-click the Unset resource cell.
  6. Select Includable EKL Libraries from the list.
    The Select a Know How Library for item xxx appears.
  7. Enter the library name and click Search.
    The library appears in the list.
  8. Select it and click OK twice.
