Replace a Product with Another One Referenced in a Resource Table
Replacing a product with another one referenced in a resource table lets you define replaceable components in a product table based on a resource table.
Replace a Product with Another One Referenced in a Resource TableReplacing a product with another one referenced in a resource table lets you define replaceable components in a product table based on a resource table. Before you begin: You must have created an assembly containing a
knowledge engineering
specification and two products.
Set a Column to NeutralYou can set a column to Neutral. Neutral means that the column is not linked to an object in the assembly. In the product table window, a flash symbol indicates that the column is neutral. The Neutral columns check box enables you to hide/show neutral columns. Set a Neutral Column to StandardAfter setting a column to Neutral, you can set it back to standard. Note:
To display neutral columns, click
Neutral columns.
Create a Neutral Column From SheetYou can create a neutral column directly in the .xls or the .txt sheet. Rename a ColumnYou can rename a column.
Drive the Active Row of a Product Table Active Using an Engineering Rules Capture RuleYou can drive an active row of a product table using an Engineering Rules Capture rule. It enables you to access the attributes of the active row. Replace an Item Pointed by the Product Table by Another ItemYou can replace an item pointed by the product table by another item provided their types are identical. Copy an Existing Sheet into a Product TableYou can copy a sheet into a Product Table. The columns of the imported sheet are copied after the columns of the Product Table. If the product table is empty, the Product Table sheet is identical to the imported sheet. You can select the sheet of another product table. Bear in mind that the links to the piloted elements are not copied. Sheets types (.txt or .xls) may be different. Update the AssemblyYou can update the assembly directly from the product table dialog box. In the Product Table window, click Update. The constraints and shape representations are updated. Integrate Derived RepresentationsImpacts of deactivated or removed instances on derived representations that rely on those deactivated instances and children are managed automatically. This is particularly helpful when updating a derived representation that contains imports of parts underneath a deactivated/deleted instance. This feature minimizes errors in derived representations by:
Depending on if the product table is used directly or within a component family item generation, the system hides or deletes the objects (impacted global imports, bodies, representation impacts, and publications) that should not appear in the current configuration.. Manage Revisions of Component FamiliesA component family item may have various revisions depending upon the number of revisions of Generic Models. You can choose a revision of a component family item’s resolved model inside of a product table definition and apply it using the Apply Row operation on the product table. Notes:
