Using the Design Table Migration Batch

When working with design tables, you can migrate excel or .txt design table source files from the product representation to a document using the Design Table Migration batch.

Note: If you do so, the maturity of the new document is automatically changed to the generic design table. The maturity of the new document is automatically changed to the generic one.


Before you begin: As the migration batch migrates the data using the design table source file, you must own the rights to modify and save the data to launch the batch.

Creating a Design Table from an Existing File

  1. From the Tools section of the action bar, select Utility.
  2. In the Batch Monitor, right-click DTMigrationBatch and select New parameter file.
  3. In the DTMigrationBatch window, click Object Search .
  4. In the Object Search window, enter a string in the Responsible box and click Apply.
    The DTMigrationBatch window list is filled.
  5. Select the Product representation that you want to migrate.
    Note: You can also select a search query that has been previously stored. This allows you to retrieve all the objects returned by the search query when the batch is launched.
  6. Click Run to run the batch.
    Notes:
    • You can display the migration result clicking .
    • For each representation, a specific result showing the traces is available.
    Return code Explanation
    1 The representation is not a design table source file (part, or drawing for example).
    2 The representation may be a design table source file but is not used in a design table (Excel file stored in a Product Representation but not pointed by any design table).
    3 The creation of the PLMDocument designed to replace the representation has failed.
    4 The migration of the links from the former representation to the new document failed.
    5 The save operation of the pointing components failed.
