About Switching Index and Authoring Modes | ||

When you open an object, the page toolbar shows one of these icons whether the Use Index option is selected or not:

Where,
T: Specifies 1, 3, 5, or 10 minutes, which are selected in the Edit preferences option. By default, 3 minutes are selected.
To change the duration, select Preferences in the toolbar and choose an option under Auto switch from Authoring mode to Index mode. For more information, see Customizing Preferences
The following table provides the summary of different configurations whether the Use Index option is selected or not and the Index or Authoring mode is active:

- The Classification Attributes tab details are displayed in the authoring mode whether the mode is selected as the index or authoring modes.
- By default when the mode is switched to index mode after the T minutes, the content view is not refreshed.
- By default, the 6WTags are supported in the index mode hence the 6WTags are not present in the authoring mode.
