You can use the Ceiling function to provide a ceiling for a space or closed profile sketch. The app uses the shape of the space or the sketch to determine the ceiling shape.

Ceilings also vary by their parameters. The app uses these parameters to define the ceiling:

ParameterDescription
Ceiling HeightThe distance between the top of the slab and the bottom of the ceiling.
Ceiling ThicknessThe distance between the top and bottom of the ceiling material.
Wall OffsetThe distance between ceiling edges and the wall. Only ceilings for spaces have the wall offset parameter.
Reservation OffsetThe distance above the top of the ceiling to the top of the reserved ceiling space.

Since you can create closed profile ceiling sketches inside, outside, or partially inside and partially outside the building, the app has you define the ceiling for closed sketches as one of the following:

ParameterDescription
AddedCeiling is both inside and outside the building.
InteriorCeiling is only inside the building.
Exterior Ceiling is only outside the building.

Whenever, you need more than one value for a parameter, create another ceiling. For example, if the ceiling in an open area has two different ceiling heights, create two closed profile sketches and create two ceilings. Once you create the ceilings on a story, you can use the Copy to Story function to copy them to another story.
