Context Toolbars

The context toolbars are smart toolbars that contain only those commands that can be applied to the current selection. While some are specific to particular types of elements, others are more general and appear on multiple elements where they are relevant.

The following tables show some of the context toolbar commands.

Activate Component
Activates the selected component for editing.


Show
Shows the selected item.


Hide
Hides the selected item.


Edit Feature
Edits feature properties.


Define In Work Object
Sets the selected object as the in-work object.

Stories



Story Height
Provides access to a story height handle and value box to change the story height for the selected story.
See Changing Story Height.


Insert Story Above
Inserts a new story above the selected story.
See Adding a Story Above.


Insert Story Below
Inserts a new story below a selected story.
See Adding a Story Below.

Pitched Roof



Face Pitch
Provides access to the Face Pitch dialog box, where you can change the face pitch.


Face Overhang
Provides access to the Face Overhang dialog box, where you can change the face overhang.


Add Open Gable
Adds an open gable for the selected face.


Remove Open Gable
Removes the open gable for the selected wall.

Grid Labels



Building Grid Labels
In the 3D area, opens a grid label box, where you can enter a grid label. Also opens the Structure Grid Labels dialog box that reflects your gridline selections and allows you to complete the Structure Grid Labels command.


Grid Label Popup On
Turns on the Pop-up Grid Label feature that displays a pop-up grid label when hovering the pointer over a gridline. During column creation, whenever you hover over a vertical grid segment, the system displays the grid labels for the intersecting gridlines.


Grid Label Popup Off
Turns off the Pop-up Grid Label feature.


Label Text Angle
Displays a handle and callout that can be used to edit the text angle of the selected grid label.


Reset Label
Resets the selected grid label to default state.


Hide Label
Hides the selected grid label.


Show All Labels
Displays all hidden grid labels.

Curtain Walls



Deactivate Mullions
Deactivates mullions, transoms, and borders of selected curtain walls.


Activate Mullions
Activates mullions, transoms, and borders of selected curtain walls.

Variable Curtain Walls



Extract Cells
Publishes individual cells or curves in the selected variable curtain wall as a geometrical set.

Stairwells



Stairwell Wall Gap
Specifies the gap between selected walls and the stairwell.

Other Commands



Copy to Story
Copies selected spaces, walls, or slabs from a non-active story to a specified location on an active story.


Wall Thickness
Provides a handle and a value box to specify the wall thickness for the selected walls.


Space Properties
Opens the Space Properties dialog box.


Extract Wall
Converts walls from space features into wall features. In the 3D area, select multiple walls then select the Join walls when possible check box to convert connected walls into a single extracted wall. You can also select spaces to extract all walls associated with the space.


Replace Missing Walls
Replaces missing or deleted walls from a mass or space.


Slab Thickness
Provides access to thickness value box for specifying slab thickness for selected slabs.


Insert New Building
Inserts a new building in the tree of a Site tab.


Edit in Building Space Planning
Creates a shell and core product, associates story products to the building, and creates a building functional set in each story. The command appears when there is no Building Space Planning building in the active product.


Multiple Edit
Edits parameter values of selected building components or features of the same type.
