You can use a reference plane to add a mezzanine between stories.

Activate the story below the intended mezzanine.
For example, to create a mezzanine above story 1, activate story 1.
- To accommodate the mezzanine, adjust the story height of the active story.
- To create a reference plane for the mezzanine:

From the Wireframe and Surface section of the
action bar, click Plane
. - In the Plane Definition dialog box, under Plane type, select Offset from plane.
- Under Reference, select the active story in the tree or in the 3D area.

To change the offset distance from slab of the story below, in the
3D area, drag the Offset handle to the desired offset distance. Alternatively, enter an offset distance value in the Plane Definition dialog box.
The offset distance becomes the height of the story below the mezzanine.
- In the Plane Definition dialog box, click OK.
The system creates a reference plane for the mezzanine.

In the tree under the active story, click the new reference plane.
For example, under the active story, under PartBody, click Plane.2.
- Create a slab sketch as follows:
- From the Building section of the action bar, Positioned Sketch
.Note:
You can create a sketch using Sketcher.
- In the 3D area, create a closed sketch.
- In the Sketcher app, in the Sketch section of the action bar, click Exit App
.
Make the sketch the shape and size you need for the mezzanine.
- Create the slab using the Slab
from the Building section.
The system creates a mezzanine slab that you can see in the 3D area using the Section View
and the View Selector
.
