DMR Page

The Device Master Record (DMR) lists all relevant parts, specifications, process documents, and reference items. Anyone who has access to the part can view the DMR.

Design and Senior Design Engineers create parts using the Engineering BOM Management processes. Manufacturing Engineers and Senior Manufacturing Engineers use the Manufacturing BOM Management processes to manage plants and the manufacturing bill of materials (MBOM) for a part.

Columns

Important: By default, the Effectivity (Start Date, End Date), Change Information, and Approver(s) columns are not present.
Column Name Description
Name The name of the object included in the record. Objects could be parts, CAD drawings, process documents, and so on. Click to open the item.

From the page toolbar, click the Validate DMR to view the DMR status icon along with the Name of a parent or root part. The following are the DMR statuses:

  • Not Started – There is no DMR baseline. This status is displayed if at least one combination of all the available combinations for the DMR baseline are not created.
  • In Sync – The Approved DMR baseline matches the current DMR of the part. This status is displayed if all the DMR baselines are created for all the available configurations. It also displayed if both the DMR baseline is present for the modes and matched with the current DMR.
  • Out-of-sync – The Approved DMR Baseline does not match the current DMR of the part. This status is displayed if one of the combinations for the approved DMR baseline is not matched with the current DMR.
  • In progress – DMR Baseline exists but it is not approved. This status is displayed if all the DMR baselines are created for all the available configurations. It also displayed if both the DMR baseline is present for the modes and one of the DMR baselines are not in the Approved state.
  • Not Applicable – The Status icon is not displayed. The object is either not a part, the part is not an end item, or the part has no child parts. (based on system settings. Contact your administrator to configure if required.)

Title The title of the device master record (DMR). The title of DMR may be different from the name.
Type The object type.
State The current lifecycle state of the object.
Policy The policy that governs the object's lifecycle.

You can click to open the refinements pane. This pane lets you refine the list of items shown in the DMR page based on column values or these filters. After entering filter criteria, click Filter in that section.

Filter Name Description
Effective View Choose EBOM to view the DMR based on EBOM relationships or MBOM relationships (Current) or MBOM & MBOM Pending (Current & Pending) relationships.

Note: The MBOM and MBOM & MBOM Pending options are visible only if Manufacturing BOM(MBO) is installed with Device Master Record Management.

Plant Select a plant from the list to create an MBOM plant-specific view of the DMR.
Note: MBOM is available only if Manufacturing BOM(MBO) is installed with Device Master Record Management.
Supplier Select a supplier from the list.
Filter Expression Click to choose any number of dates. For MBOM items, the page refines the list to show items where the selected dates occur between the start and end dates on that row.
