Adding a Pathway Connection Point

This section describes how to add a pathway connection point to a basic shape, detailed shape or equipment centers.

Pathway connection points identify the location of a logical port on a shape and are represented on the shape by a point and an axis system.


Before you begin: Add a basic or detailed shape to the 3D view of your logical system.

Associating a Pathway Connection Point to a Logical Port
  1. Select the surface, edge or point of a 3D Shape.
    The Pathway Connection Point context toolbar appears.

  2. Click Pathway Connection Point .
  3. Move the pointer in the 3D view to the selected shape.
    • If it is not possible to add a pathway connection point on the shape, a black symbol is displayed. To overcome this, you should identify the shape as a detail type.
    • If it is possible to add a pathway connection point on the shape, a hand symbol is displayed.
  4. Select the shape.
    A green dot appears and every existing pathway connection points are highlighted.

    The pathway connection point is labeled on the shape.

    The pathway connection point is created and published in the tree. An axis system is associated to the point.

    You can now associate the pathway connection point to a logical port.

    Note: To delete a pathway connection point, select the pathway connection point label on the shape. The pathway connection point is deleted, any links to logical ports are deleted. The associated axis system and the X on the shape are not deleted.
