Analyzing the Content of a Structure

You can get information about the size and the complexity of a structure.

This enables you to assess the impact of lifecycle commands (for example, duplicate or revise) before launching them. Administrators and IT users can also use this functionality to audit structures or for debugging purposes.

Required access roles: Author, Leader, Owner, Administrator. For more information, see Collaborative Lifecycle Access to Content

Before you begin:
  1. Go to Me > Preferences > Customize, and select the Commands tab.
  2. From Categories list, select ENOVIA Lifecycle Management.
  3. Drag Data Analyzer from the Commands list to a section of the action bar.
  1. Select the object you want to analyze.

    You can select several objects.

Important: The objects must be indexed in database (that is, they must appear in search results).

  2. In the action bar, click Data Analyzer .

The Data Analyzer panel provides the following information:

    • The total number of objects, with the number of entities and relations
    • The number of structures contained in the selected objects and their depth

The depth of the structure is computed based on instances and references. Aggregated objects, like ports and connections, are taken into account in the analysis of the content, but not in the depth computation.

The Advanced section provides the list of types contained in the structure and the quantity for each of them. The List of Types tab provides a plain list ordered by the number of objects in database. The Groups of Types tab groups objects depending on their type.

Note: The Advanced section provides information mainly for administrators and IT users.

  3. Optional: To export the list of objects in a .csv file, click Generate CSV file.
