- Multiple Bills of Material Tables
-
You can create one or multiple top level and/or summarized BOM tables for the root
product and/or its sub-assemblies.
The Multiple Bills of Material dialog box consists of the
following:
- Root Context: Lets you define the root product context for
which the bills of materials are generated. If the drawing consists of one or
several views pointing to the same root product, the Root
Context is automatically set to the same root product. However, you
can still change it by selecting another root amongst the products already opened in
the session.
If the Root Context is not automatically set,
you need to select the required root product from the tree or select a particular view pointing to that particular root product. Note:
At
any time during the command execution, you can change the root product as per
your requirement.
- In other cases, you need to select the required root product which is then
available in the Root Context box.
- Configuration: Lets you choose the configuration of the
bills of material being created. Available options are:
- All Level +Summary: When this option is selected, the
Selection List consists of:
- The root product as the first item in the list with
T and S (that is Top Level
and Summarized) attributes selected.
- The remaining items in the list are all the subassemblies (except the leaf
level sub-products) with only T attribute selected.
- User Selection: By default this option is selected.
With this option, the Selection List shows the single
item of the root product context. You can however, click
Add to add other subassemblies in the list.
Note:
If at any point of time you change the configuration selection from
User Selection to All Level +
Summary, then all the current items are removed from the selection
list and this list is pre-filled with Root Context and
all the sub-assemblies (except the leaf level sub-products). Similarly if you
change the selection from All Level + Summary to
User Selection, then all the current items are removed
from the selection list except the first Root
Context.
- BOM Styles: Available options are:
- Top Level BOM: Select the style that is used for all
the Top Level BOM tables to be created.
Note:
Top Level BOM tables are created only for the
selected items in the list which have the Top Level (T)
attribute enabled in the Selection List.
- Summarized BOM: Select the style that is used for all
the Summarized BOM tables that are to be created.
Note:
Summarized BOM tables are created only for the
selected items in the list which have the Summarized
(S) attribute enabled in the Selection
List.
- Selection List: Displays the selected root product and the
sub-assemblies that are pre-filled or added separately. With this you can create the
corresponding BOM tables for each and every item present in this list. The list also
displays the BOM attributes, that is T (for Top Level BOM)
and S (Summarized BOM) activated or deactivated for the
corresponding item in the list. By default, whenever you add a new item (product) in
the list, both the attributes are activated.
If required, you can click to remove any unwanted item from the list.
Note:
If you remove the root product item from the Selection
List, the Root Context is not automatically
changed.
You can sort all the items present in the Selection
List based on the following available sorting options:
- Product name
- Top Level BOM
- Summarized BOM
You can click on any of these arrows to sort the list accordingly.
- Add: Lets you add more items (sub-assemblies/products) in
the Selection List so as to generate their respective BOM
tables. As soon as you click Add, the drawing document is
tiled vertically along with the root product and the configuration option
automatically changes to User Selection.
When you select
a product or a sub-assembly, it gets added in the selection list with the
attributes T and S activated.
Notes:
- You cannot select the same product or sub-assembly multiple times to be
added in the selection list.
- The last used configuration options along with selected styles are saved
as a preference and used as a default for the next usage.
