Picture Insertion

By default, a picture is inserted in a table cell in the stretched mode and its anchor point corresponds to the one of the cell text. However, you can display the picture in its original size by clearing the Stretch picture to fit cell size check box, available when you edit the picture properties and select the Picture tab.

  • When the picture is not stretched, it is displayed as defined by its original image definition, its size and cropping specifications.
  • When the picture is stretched, it is displayed with a scale, so as to fit the cell size. The scale is applied keeping the ratio of the picture, taking into account size and cropping specifications.

Notes:
  • A table cell containing a picture cannot be smaller than the picture itself.
  • Scaling or cropping a picture does not change its size in memory.
  • You can delete a picture inserted in a table.

Merged Table Cells

You can insert a picture in a merged table cell and also merge a set of table cells containing a picture. In this case, the resulting cell content is the one of the top left cell.

Picture Position and Orientation in a Table Cell

There are nine possible positions for a picture inserted in a table cell:

  • Upper-left, upper-center, upper-right
  • Middle-left, middle-center, middle-right
  • Lower-left, lower-center, lower-right

Picture position in the cell is the same as text position.

Picture orientation follows the table orientation and it is not modifiable.
