Creating a Coordinates Table for Points

You can create a coordinates table of 2D and 3D or geolocated points. You can also select the axis system and table format while creating the table.

Before you begin:
  • In a layout, create views with lines and points.
  • To create a coordinate dimension table of geolocated points, create points in the 3D area of a geolocated product. For more information, see Experience Models Preparation User's Guide: Geolocation Concepts: About the Geolocation Panel.
  1. Select the points in one or more views.

  2. From the Annotation section of the action bar, click Coordinate Dimension Table .
Important: Points coordinate tables cannot be associative. Selecting an element in the drawing does not make the table associative to this element.
  3. In the Axis System and Table Parameters dialog box, select an axis system from the Axis System list.

In a layout, only the feasible axis systems are listed. You can select any of the following systems:

    • 2D axis system: You can use the 2D axis system. It can be either the one of the view or user-defined. In this case, it can be defined by typing the origin coordinates in the X and Y boxes, or interactively by either:

      • Indicating a point by clicking in the view
      • Selecting a point
      • Selecting two lines

    • 3D axis system: You can select the absolute axis of the 3D model. If the model is a single part, select a local axis.
    • 3D geolocated axis system: You can select geolocated points.

You can flip the axis using the Flip horizontally and Flip vertically and select the Create representation check box to represent the axis system.

  4. In the Title box, enter a title for the table.
  5. In the Columns list, select a style for labeling or indexing.

Tip: Click to select the initial index or label. In the Start Reference dialog box, enter the initial index or label in the Start index/label box.

  6. Select the required check boxes to include the columns in the table.
Note: At this point, you can change the precision using the Numerical Properties options in the Object Properties panel. Note that once you validate the creation of the points coordinate table (by clicking OK in the Axis System and Table Parameters dialog box), you will no longer be able to edit these dimension properties. You cannot edit coordinates table precision value through style customization.
  7. In the Titles list, enter titles for the columns you selected.
  8. Under Table Format, select the table formatting and click OK.

    • Select the Transpose table check box to reverse columns and rows.
    • Select the Sort table content check box to sort the table elements. For more information, see Sorting a Table
    • Select the Split table check box to split the table into several tables. For more information, see Splitting a Table.

    The table is created.
