Creating Stacked Dimension Systems

You can create a stacked dimension system that can comprise distance or angle dimensions. Stacked dimensions are parallel lines with a common extension line.

  1. From the Annotation section of the action bar, click Stacked Dimensions .
  2. Click a first point on the view.
  3. Click a second point on the view.

    A first dimension is created within the stacked dimension system.



  4. Click a third point on the view.

    A second stacked dimension is created in the system.



  5. Click a fourth point on the view.

    You now created a third stacked dimension in the system. Note that this stacked dimension is inserted properly into the system.

    You can create as many stacked dimensions as required.



    Note: During dimension creation, the whole system follows the pointer if Dimension following the cursor check box is selected in Me > Preferences > App Preferences > 3D Modeling > Mechanical Systems > Drafting > Dimension section. Therefore, If you move one dimension line as you create a chained dimension, all the lines move accordingly.

  6. Click in the sheet to validate the stacked dimension creation.
