General Information

Supported views
  • Projection views
  • Mono-plane section views
Non-compatibility with breakout
  • 2D Visualization Mode
  • Volume clipping
Compatibility with breakout
  • Clipping frame
  • Back, slice, and box clipping
  • Circular or polygonal 2DL (2D layout) clipping
  • Filtering

Notes:
  • You can create only one breakout per view.
  • Breakout can be applied on 2DL view background: It has no effect on the 2D elements (sketch elements, annotations, dimensions, 2D components, for example). Other 2DL views or 3D Tolerancing & Annotation view which are visible in its background are managed.

Addition and Removal of Breakouts

Right-click the view and select Clipping. The following options are displayed:

  • Modify Breakout: Lets you modify the breakout.
  • Remove Breakout: Removes the breakout and restores the entire view.
  • Apply Breakout To: Applies breakout to the selected 3D elements in another view.

Breakout Characteristics

Non-associative definition
  • An offset from 2DL view plane
  • A selection of a point, a line, or a plane, with an offset
  • A selection of a body: the near and far points of the bounding box are used (an offset can be used)

Notes:
  • The planar and linear elements must be parallel to the breakout plane.
  • When the breakout specification is applied to another view, the breakout modification performed on a view do not modify the breakout on the other view.
