Creating a View from a Profile

You can create an auxiliary view, a section view, or a section cut with a 2D profile. The section views and section cuts can be single plane or multi-plane.


Before you begin: Open a 3D shape representation containing a layout and a front view.

Modifying a View from a Profile
  1. From the View Layout section of the action bar, click View from Profile .
  2. In the Tools Palette, the following options are available:
    OptionDescription
    Auxiliary View Creates an auxiliary view
    Section View Creates a section view
    Section Cut Creates a section cut
    Offset Creates offset profile for section view or cut
    Aligned Creates aligned profile for section view or cut
    Sketch Creates a 2D profile
    Selection Enables to select an already existing 2D profile
  3. To sketch a 2D profile on the fly:
    1. Click Sketch .
    2. In the Tools Palette, click the required view or cut.
    3. Draw the 2D profile to create the selected view.
  4. If a 2D profile already exists:
    1. Click Selection .
    2. In the Tools Palette, click the required view or cut.
    3. Select a 2D profile in the active view.

      You can also select the profile in active view without selecting the required view or cut. The profile type is computed based on the number of segments and their alignment.

  5. Click in the sheet to position the view.

    The 2D layout view is created and can be moved anywhere in the sheet.

    Notes:
    • The options selected in the Tools Palette are saved for the next usage.
    • The created view is not associative to the 2D profile selected.
