Requirements and Documents

A list shows requirements and documents associated to a selected hazard for its mitigation.

If Traceable Requirements Management is not installed or if only documents > documents traceability is configured, the list shows fewer columns, as noted below.

To access the requirement and document list for a hazard, from the navigation pane for a hazard, click Requirements.

Columns

Column Name Description
NameThe name of the requirement or document.
RevisionThe current revision of the requirement or document. indicates that a higher revision exists.
StateIndicates the lifecycle state of the requirement or document.
(Engineering Change) indicates that an engineering change exists for the requirement.

Note: This column is not shown if only documents > documents traceability is configured or if Traceable Requirements Management is not installed.

(Lock State)Indicates whether the associated specification is locked by a user:

IconMeaning
The specification is locked by you.
The specification is locked by another user.
The specification is not locked.

(Difficulty)Indicates the difficulty of the requirement:

(Priority)Indicates the priority of the requirement:

(Parenthood Status) Indicates the status of the link between sub requirements and the parent requirement:

The worst status of all links to sub requirements is "Valid".
The worst status of all links to sub requirements is "Suspect".
The worst status of all links to sub requirements is "Invalid".
The worst status of all links to parent requirements is "Valid".
The worst status of all links to parent requirements is "Suspect".
The worst status of all links to parent requirements is "Invalid".
The requirement is not allocated to another requirement as a child or parent.

Double arrows indicate requirement objects are connected at both the "From" and "To" sides. The colors indicate the parenthood link status of each side of the connection.

ClassificationIdentifies the requirement classification:

ClassificationMeaning
FunctionalThis is a functional requirement.
Non-functionalThis is not a functional requirement.
ConstraintThis requirement has a constraint.
NoneThere is no classification for this requirement.

TitleThe brief title for the requirement or document.
OwnerThe person who owns the requirement or document.
CustomerThe customer who provided the requirement.

ModifiedThe date on which the requirement or document was created or last modified.

Add ExistingDisplays a list of all design projects for the product. You can expand the list and choose one or more requirements/documents and connect them to the hazard using the "mitigated by" relationship.

Available to the owner of the hazard or the project member or lead of any design projects associated with the product.

Remove SelectedDisconnects one or more selected requirements/documents from the hazard.

Available to the owner of the hazard or the project member or lead of any design projects associated with the product.
