Filleting Edges With Variable Radii

You can create an edge fillet with variable radii along an edge.

The radius varies at selected points along a selected edge.

This task shows you how to:

Create a Variable Fillet

You must first create a fillet.

In the work area, select the edge or edges, or the face to fillet and click Fillet .
By default, a constant-radius fillet with G1 continuity is created. The first time you create a fillet, the radius depends on the industrial context, and thereafter, the value you specify becomes the default value used.

Click the fillet you created and select from the following Selection panel options:


General Section
Fillet Type	Constant	Variable
Select the Curvature Continuity box for an enhanced surface.
Radius Section
Value	Enter a precise value such as 5mm
Computation mode	Radial	Chordal

After the variable fillet is created, you can add control points to this fillet.

Select one of the two existing handles, and click to add a control point to the fillet.
Repeat this operation if necessary.
To move a control point, click and move the curve representing its radius.
To adjust the fillet size, drag one of the handles.
