Validating a 2D Drawing

You can create a 2D validation of a drawing, a layout, and a sheet.


Before you begin: You must have the Design Review license.

  1. In the top bar, in the search box, enter the required string for the layout, drawing, or sheet and press Enter.
    A list of all objects corresponding to your search criteria appears. For more details about searching for objects, see 3DEXPERIENCE Native Apps: Using the Bar: Semantic Search.
  2. Right-click the drawing and select Explore.
    The selected drawing opens.
    Note: You can open drawings, layouts, and sheets (loaded in Light Mode) and 2D documents (.cgm, .jpg, and .tif files).
  3. From the Compass, click Design Review.
    • If a review already exists for the drawing, the Work on a Review dialog box appears displaying the name of the existing review.
      • To work on an existing review, click the name of the review.
      • To create a review, click New.

        The Review dialog box appears.

    • If the drawing is not associated to a review, the Review dialog box appears.
  4. Enter a name and description for the review and, if required, for the markup, and click OK.
    The review is created and the review thumbnail appears. You can now access the commands from the action bar.
    Notes:
    • The drawing, layout, or sheet is displayed in the light mode.
    • The tree consisting of drawing view is available on pressing F3 at the top left corner of the editor.
    • A thumbnail tab is available on the top left corner of the editor if the drawing has multisheets.
